Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a skilled form of communication used under hypnosis that can support you to make your desired positive changes. You cannot be forced under hypnosis and you can still resist any suggestion made under hypnosis and you remain in control. Hypnosis brings you into a relaxed state by slowing your brain waves down with my voice, what I say and the music I may use, you do this naturally every day when you go to sleep or daydream.

The subconscious mind holds information, our fears, memories and our past emotions and our creativity; it makes up approximately 95 to 98% of our mind (the conscious mind being the rest). It can be the source of many of our problems and it is also a huge reservoir of our unrecognised potential which can be tapped into through hypnotherapy. The subconscious mind is resistant to change because once it learns something, it tends to resist change but through hypnotherapy it reprograms your mind.

Our present beliefs, habits, mannerisms and thought patterns are the result of past ‘programming’ into our subconscious mind from our parents, family members, teachers and various other sources. Unexpressed emotions, fear and our beliefs can hold us back in life from living the life we want and from feeling happy. At times we do not know why we have certain beliefs or fears and Hypnotherapy can help you to explore the original cause of a problem and to release these for you to positively move forward.

What happens during a Hypnotherapy session?

In your first session we will talk about your issues and goals and make a plan of how to move you forward. After discussing techniques, some or all of these may be used within your treatment; hypnotherapy, coaching, counselling skills or cognitive behavioural therapy skills, neuro linguistic programming, inner child therapy, Thought Field Therapy (tapping therapy) and solution focused work.

You may then be provided with your bespoke Hypnosis recording to listen to at home.

Typically a straightforward issue would only require  1 – 3 sessions; for deeper work it could be 6 or more sessions.
