Mayumi Nakagawa

Mayumi is originally from Japan, but trained as a professional sports & remedial massage therapist in Australia before working in a pain management clinic helping those suffering with soft tissue injuries.

Mayumi has a deep interest in natural therapies. Having sadly lost her mother to cancer at a young age due to long term prescribed use of steroids she was determined to look for natural alternatives.

“Our body is so amazing that it knows how to balance back naturally. We just need to take some time to treat ourselves. Sports & remedial massage is a beautiful natural therapy. It is not only for sports people but for everyone that suffers from back, neck and shoulder stiffness from desk-based work, chronic fatigue, poor circulation, low energy, emotional issues and anxiety or depression,”

Mayumi has over 18 years of experience working as a massage therapist. She is trained in remedial massage which includes deep tissue cross fibre techniques, soft tissue release (STR),  muscle energy techniques (MET), trigger point therapy. She has worked with a wide variety of people and conditions. Mayumi enjoys active sports, including Pilates, playing tennis, cycling and swimming. She continues to enjoy developing her professional skills and natural therapy interests to help others.
