Reiki is beyond words, it is known through experience, not explanation.The word Reiki (pronounced “ray key”) is Japanese. It is the amalgamation of two words, “rei” which means both universal, in the sense of everywhere and also spiritual wisdom and “ki” which means the same as prana or chi i.e. the vital life force within everything alive. Reiki can be translated as spiritually guided life force energy. It creates and sustains everything in existence and can be used to transform, and re-create.
